I saw some of souljoer00’s art a while back and got in touch with him about a collaboration. We’ve been talking for a while and things finally came together with this. I love his work and really wanted to see his take on the Growth Lab characters and transformations.

Growth Lab 14&15 (Michelle) was a watershed comic for me. It was drawn TEN years ago now and was what I would call the “Silver Age” of the GLab comics. My style was changing and I was just getting into all digital work.

Folks, thank YOU so much for the suggestions and ideas. We had nearly 50 ideas and ALL of them were awesome. It was tough to narrow it down and please know even if your ideas weren’t chosen that is not a knock on the lady or you!

I ultimately went with four characters I felt would be a fun pick for everyone here. Samus, Chun-lI, Tracer and Mikasa are all fairly well known and have been suggested in prior comic contests. Also, they have great costumes and should be fun to animate.

The ROUGH Plan at the moment

OK, the idea is all four will get a sequence with a bunch of shots, closeups and the like. I’m still workshopping how all this will go so bear with me. I don’t have an exactly shot count or if they will all be given exactly the same amount of ‘animation’ time. It will mostly come down to how each sequence flows when I get to it. 

I’d also like to have some establishing moment for each to setup the situation. Beyond that, I would ALSO like to get each character a ‘bonus’ scene(s) – IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, if you catch my drift, if you understand the hint! haha

I’ll keep YOU posted with previews as we go and the final will be up on the 30th of December.

Growth Lab 57 – Versus

I am hoping to get this done in December but there is a good chance it will be earlier than that. I’ve got a lot of the art complete and progress is moving along. My goal is to finish this comic, get the book out to all patrons and THEN offer the Bixby Saga (GLab 54-57) as an Omnibus for everyone. To be clear, I am basically talking about putting four comics in ONE pdf and offering that to all patrons for free of course.

Summary

• – GLab 57 will be done in December or SOONER and offered to all current patrons
• – GLabs 54-57  will be bundled in an Omnibus and offered to all patrons sometime after the release of GLab 57 (no ETA at the moment)

Camping Animation (November’s Movie)

I want to make this a really fun change up from the sci-fi and city stuff we have been seeing. Basically, it will be the ladies out on a camping trip in what (for the movie series) will be new setting. My goal is to show as much awesome BE/GTS and FMG fun in this setting as I can manage in a movie. These are some of the things on my mind

• I can’t promise EVERYTHING on this list nor can I promise what does happen is your dream version but I will do my best!!!
• BE/GTS and FMG of course!
• Flannel shirts ripping
• Boot growth
• Growing in a TENT
• Ghost stories?!?!
• Sleeping bag growth
• Jackets, hats and more!

Those are some off the top of my head and there will likely be more. I’ve begun work and plan to have a preview up for everyone by this weekend or the early next week. I don’t imagine a lot of new VO in this one but if I have appropriate clips clips I will put them in.
