After the courtroom outbreak, a prototype decom vault is reopened to try and drain the affected quickly. A switch of energy containers and Vivan's variant growth leads to an overload throughout the Vault until the Omega generator is able to reactivate the dampers.

Luna Masters, Vivian Prince, and Karen Summers are transferred to the Army Vault, a prototype area designed to remove growth energy rapidly. Trisha Hubert is overseeing the switching of the container tanks, a process which risks growth surge while the tanks are put offline for the switch. Vivian starts to overload during the container switch, affecting Karen, Luna, and Trisha. The Vault automatically locks down when the growth is detected. Luna deduces that Vivian has some variant energy and Trisha reports that she is not able to be stored properly by the tanks. Trisha breaks through the walls of the Vault right as the Omega Generator comes online but it is unable to compensate for the growth energy building in the four women. The Omega is eventually able to start draining the four of them, although they all grow too large to be contained in the vault, with Luna being at least fifteen times larger then the other three.
